-combined area of Gender, Gay and Lesbian studies.
Queer
means strong /odd / homosexual
They study the cross dressing, bisexuality,
transsexualty.
It is grounded in the conference on Queer theory of
University of California. Santa Cruz.
Lesbian& Gay studies began as liberation
movement parallel with African American & Feminist movements (of 1960's,
70's)
Stonewel l Roits (1969) - New York - Birth of Gay
rights movement
adopted binary oppositions from Deconstruction to
show male and female Herero and Homo.....
"Queer theory' is am umbrella term. It is
coined by Teresa Delauretis.
The term was
introduced in 1990, with Eve Kosofsky Sedgewick.
