Para-jumbles literally mean jumbled paragraphs.  Para-Jumble refers to a paragraph wherein the sentences are jumbled. So, we are required to arrange the sentences in a proper manner such that they link and form a coherent paragraph.

Different types of Para jumbles:

1.     In the first type, 4 or 5 sentences are given, which have to rearranged them.

2.     In the second type, the opening sentence and closing sentence are already fixed.

Explanation:  Correct Option D, as clearly from that Rules of Jumbled Sentence we can verify the sequence of the paragraph.

2nd sentence D – Addresses the effect of Ebola on human beings.

3rd sentence C – Talking about the cure for the same disease.

4th sentence A – Stating the results or report of the research. (also, the use of ’till date’ shows that it is the final result, hence it will be the last sentence. )

a) PORS                       b) QPSR                       c) PQSR                        d) SRPQ

Basic Strategies for solving Para-jumble Questions:

1.     Scan all the sentences:  Read or Scan all the sentences to get an idea about the topic. Try to figure out what the paragraph is all about?

2.     Check for First sentence: While you go through the labelled sentences, try to look for one that makes a fresh beginning. It should not be a sentence that is extending previous ideas. If the Opening and closing sentences are given, skip this step.

3.     Check for Last Sentence: There are multiple options beginning with the introductory sentence. So, you will need more than one clue. The last sentence in the paragraph is one that summarizes and has links to previous sentences. If the Opening and closing sentences are given, skip this step

4.     Usage of Pronouns and Acronyms: The sentences, which would have pronouns or acronyms would be the middle sentences since a paragraph’s first sentence will carry proper nouns and full forms. Hence, any sentence of the Para-jumble would be one of the middle sentences.

5.     Note the Transitional Words:  Observe the transition words such as ‘also’, ‘as well’,  ‘furthermore’, which act as a bridge between one sentence to another a paragraph. Observing the transition words can lead to the connecting sentence.

6.     Anticipate the order of the sentences: Try generating some kind of order in your mind, before you look at the options. This tactic will help save the precious time.

7.     See if there are any logical sequences among sentence pairs: Very often a pair of sentences can be chronologically arranged because of clues in one of the sentences. Standard clues include reference to a person or a thing. The first time such a reference is made, a noun form is used.

8.     Confirm the closest option: Having scribbled something like BCDA next to the question, do check if such an option exists. If you see an option like BDCA also alongside, then it would make sense to reconfirm the fact that sentence D follows sentence C.  In case there is no exact match, the judgment about a close option being correct. If there is more than one such match, then a closer examination is required.

9.     The secret of elimination method: One of the last resort in Para jumble is the rule of elimination method and this is the best method to solve a Para jumble.
